Fertility And Ovulation
ImageStarting a family , or adding to an already existing family, doesn't always happen automatically, just because you have decided to take that important decision. If you are trying to get pregnant, then it's important to know when ovulation is taking place. Ovulation typically occurs 2 weeks before the period comes. On a 28 day cycle, most woman ovulate on day 14. Signs of Ovulation may start on day 12 or 13, too. A sign of ovulation is vaginal discharge getting clear, runny, muccous-like, stringy, and more abundant. Some women feel sore, or crampy on the sides of the lower abdomen.
If a woman wants to get pregnant, then it's important to understand the process of ovulation. Ovulation is when an egg is released from the ovary. A woman is actually born with hundreds of thousands of eggs. Each month, an egg is developed into a follicle, and released from the ovary. Estrogen levels rise on the fifth day of the cycle, as the result of rising FSH (Folicle Stimulating Hormone).

Each month about ten eggs begin to be develoiped into follicles. A follicle is an egg inside a bubble being filled up with fluid. As this follicular fluid builds up more and more, the bubble pops and the egg is released. It actually makes a hole in the ovary, each month. The released egg is sucked up into the falopian tube, with it's  vaccuum like sucking action of the  where it makes it's way down into the uterus.

The shriveled "popped bubble" gets a fancy name:Corpus Luteum. For two weeks, Progesterone, a hormone that serves as the glue holding  everything in the uterus, flows out of that Corpus Luteum.  After two weeks, if there is a conception, the progesterone continues. If not, the glue is finished, and the drop in progesterone specifically causes the period to come. Five days later the whole thing starts again.

A short menstrual cycle is when your period comes earlier than day 25, or so. The cycle is counted from the first day of bleeding until you see it again.   Fertility possibly,  can be affected if your cycle is too short. This is because it can shorten the number of days before Ovulation, when the egg is developing into a Folicle.   A Super Herb I use to regulate/lengthen the cycle is (Chaste Berries)Vitex Agnus Castus . This really reliably will lengthen the average cycle from a few days to a week or more. A Tincture is best. To get solid results, take:
1/2-1 Teaspoon 3X Day,  day in and day out for 1-3 months.

Vitex Agnus Castus is the Best Menstrual Regulator that I have  used successfully for many years, in my practice. In many cases it works within a few weeks to lengthen the cycle. Sometimes it needs to be continued for three cycles, to see solid changes.
